Grey County Bringing Food Producers And Business Together

Grey County will be hosting two public stakeholder meetings for food producers and food businesses.

Members of both groups are encouraged to attended the consultation meetings to help discuss a local food strategy.

Economic Development Officer Philly Markowitz says the goal of the gatherings is to examine how food businesses operate with each other and how they can maximize resources through partnerships.

Markowitz also notes Grey County is an agricultural hub and food production and processing are essential to the economic health of the area.

The first meeting will be held tomorrow night at the Flesherton Kinplex at 7pm.

The next will take place on February 13th at the Quality Inn in Owen Sound, also at 7pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
