Walkerton-Area Student Receives Bruce County IPM Food Court Scholarship

The 2016 winner of the Bruce County IPM Food Court Scholarship has received her $1,000 cheque.

Paige Cossitt of Dunkeld is currently taking classes at the University of Guelph's Ridgetown campus, working towards an Associate Diploma in Agriculture.

While she's currently enjoying her studies, Paige says she looks forward to returning to home after graduating a little over a year from now.

"I want to return to my family farm, where we currently farm swine and purebred Angus and Hereford cattle. I also want to try to work part-time in an ag business, just to try to help promote agriculture a little bit and learn more about the business of it."

The eighth of ten annual IPM Food Court Scholarship recipients believes there's a wealth of opportunities waiting for her in her classmates, as there are currently 60,000 job openings across Canada's ag industry.
