Restricted Entry Interval Signs Available For Farmers

In collaboration with government and industry leaders, the Ontario Pesticide Education Program has created two signs for growers to purchase to inform people to stay out of pesticide-treated areas.

The Restricted Entry Interval refers to the period of time after an application that people should avoid the area, and the new ready-to-use signs address exactly that.

The OPEP notes the bright red stop-sign shaped signs are designed for warnings in English, French and Spanish, and offers a space for the applicator to write when it's safe to re-enter the specified area.

Signs can be viewed on-line at www.opep.ca, and can be ordered by calling 1-800-652-8573.
