Syngenta Moves Cottam Operation

Syngenta is closing its operations northwest of Leamington.

The distribution facility in question is in Cottam and will be shut down no later than May 31 of this year.

The site currently employs 11 people.

Impacted employees are eligible to apply for other positions in the company.

Previously, the site was a seed production facility and was transitioned to a distribution facility in 2010.

Syngenta has received expressions of interest in the facility,

Officials say the closing of the Syngenta distribution facility northwest of Leamington, in Cottam, is a business decision.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
