IPM Committee Looks To Education Opportunities In Walton

Members of the IPM 2017 team used Canada's Agriculture Day Thursday to focus on opportunities for education at the September event in Walton.

Upwards of 10,000 school-aged children and young adults are expected to pass through the IPM gates.

They will be given the opportunity to learn by experiencing and exploring the different exhibits throughout tented city during the IPM, including interactive displays that support the different industries of farming.

A special focus on soil and soil composition in the Education area is expected, with unique contests involved.

IPM officials say the goal is to continue to brainstorm ideas to create a positive learning atmosphere that is conducive for the next generation of farmers to become Agvocates.

The IPM runs September 19 to 23 in Walton.
