Meet The Members Day A Success For Huron County Federation Of Agriculture

The President of the Huron County Federation of Agriculture says last week's Meet the Members Day was very productive.

Erica Murray says the event is not only an opportunity for the Huron-Bruce MP and MPP to hear about the problems producers are facing, but it's also an excellent opportunity for municipal politicians to hear from the agricultural community.

Murray says three issues stood out for her.

The first was the Natural Heritage Plan, the second was concerns over property tax rates and the third was questions of the effectiveness of the Risk Management Program.

Murray also pointed out that it was significant that both the MP and MPP took time out of their schedules to attend the event and noted that while both are in opposition they still speak about what is working with various programs as well as about what needs fixing.
