Maple Syrup Health

Pure maple products are getting a closer look because of potential health benefits.

At a meeting of the American Chemical Society, or ACS, in April, scientists shared data on 100% pure maple products from Canada and the benefits.

The ACS is the largest scientific society in the world.

The potential impact on health included several areas such as chronic inflammation, metabolic syndrome, brain health and liver disease, and an emerging link to a healthy gut microbiome.

The producst that were studied came from Quebec and the Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers does not promote an increase of sugar consumption.

But, when choosing a sweetener for moderate use, they are touting 100% pure maple syrup from Canada.
