Herbicide Application After Wet Weather

Regular users of herbicides for weed control are reminded to check the labels before reapplication after wet weather.

Recent rain has left many fields across Midwestern Ontario drenched as farmers wait for sunny weather to re-apply herbicides they may have felt were washed away, but that may not always be the case. Farmers especially must be careful to follow label instructions for their herbicides, as there are seasonal limits on how much can be applied for some products.

Dual Herbicide, for example, a popular product carried in most outdoor stores around Ontario, states an annual limit of 2.5 pints per acre, while other products specifically state only one application per season.
