Agriculture Day is fast approaching.
It's set for Tuesday, February 12.
Agriculture More Than Ever is hosting a day-long celebration in Ottawa to mark Canada’s Agriculture Day.
The event in will bring together producers, grocery retail and agriculture industry leaders for a day of discussion focusing on the future of food.
Speakers include Oleen Smethurst from Costco Wholesale Canada, Sarah Davis from Loblaws Companies Limited, and Sonya McCullum Roberts from Cargill Proteins, and others.
There are a few local events.
One is in Listowel for the screening of the film 'Before the Plate'.
That's going to be at the Listowel Agricultural Hall starting at 6:30 p.m. with a social followed by the fiml and 7:30 p.m. and a panel discussion.
Before the Plate showcases 10 ingredients from planting to cooking and everything in between to help better connect the modern consumer with their food.
And in Mildmay, Stoltz is hosting a gathering as a thank-you to farmers on February 12.
