Hensall Co-op buys bean processing facility

by Ashley Ferraro

Hensall Co-op has announced that it will be buying out a P&H bean processing facility.

The P&H facility is across the road from Hensall Co-op's existing facilities in Hensall.

Corporate Operations Manager at Hensall Co-op, Joey Groot says that the purchase will increase processing and storage capability in Hensall. Groot says that the expansion will provide space to advance their efforts to improve traffic flow at harvest time.

Groot says that the increased global demand for plant-based proteins has spurred their interest in expanding. Hensall Co-op believes that a growing demand affords an opportunity for producers in Ontario.

Hensall Co-op has said that the agreement is subject to customary closing conditions and financial details will not be disclosed.
