Local farm recognized for partnership and product

Ontario is recognizing the work of local innovators whose ideas and passion are helping grow and strengthen the province’s agri-food sector.

Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece recently presented an Excellence in Agriculture, Honourable Mention Award to Bell’s Edge Farm.

They have partnered with a local dairy to produce and market gourmet butters, available in 80 Ontario retail stores within just 18 months of being in business.

“It’s important to recognize the outstanding innovations of agriculture producers. In Perth-Wellington, Bell’s Edge Farm has created a great product that everyone in Ontario can enjoy. I commend them for their commitment to strengthening Ontario’s world-class agri-food sector,” said MPP Pettapiece.

“Collaborating with other Ontario farms, producers and processors has always been one of our company’s top goals. By creating and introducing our innovative and unique line of artisan infused butter and ghee to the province, we’re able to not only keep our products 100% Canadian, but 100% Ontario in nature and origin,” said Vince Tkaczuk, the owner of Bell’s Edge Farm. “We are honoured to be recognized for Excellence in Agriculture and to accept this recognition on behalf of ourselves and all the people who help to make our infused butter and ghee products a reality.”

The Excellence in Agriculture Awards honour the contributions of hard-working and innovative people across the province who are creating new agri-food products, adding value to existing products and raising the bar for excellence by demonstrating leadership in their field that will benefit the sector, or advanced technological innovation.

The agriculture sector contributes over $39.5 billion to the local economy and employs one in eight Ontarians.
