Dairy marketing campaign focuses on environmental practices

Dairy Farmers of Canada's new marketing campaign looks to educate consumers on the rigorous environmental practices behind the production of high-quality Canadian milk.

"Hey Dairy Farmer" is an online classroom where actual Canadian dairy farmers discuss their commitment to sustainable dairy farming and preserving natural resources for generations to come.

Online videos are directed at school-aged kids asking honest questions about dairy, farmers showcase and innovative technologies being used to help reduce the sector's environmental footprint.

By adopting the latest best practices, between 2011 and 2016, the Canadian dairy farming industry reduced its carbon footprint by more than 7%, water usage by 6%, and land usage by 11% per litre of milk production.
