Optimist Club given money to help improve Rostock Hall

The Optimist Club of Ellice was one of the grant recipients of the Farm Credit Canada AgriSpirit Fund community grants.

The club purchased the Rostock hall from the Township of Perth East in September of 2018 and has been improving the building.

The AgriSpirit grant money will be used to upgrade accessibility to the hall including a barrier free exterior and interior doors and a wheelchair ramp. The community grants range between $5,000 and $25,000.

The Optimist Club of Ellice lost some fundraising opportunities this past year because of COVID-19.

The mission of Optimist Clubs is to support youth initiatives through various community and school programs and infrastructure.

The club did host a drive-through pork chop BBQ earlier this month at the Rostock Hall.
