Maple Leaf reports rising profits in most recent quarter

Maple Leaf Foods enjoying a bounceback of sorts with sales up 6.2% this quarter.

According to a release, profits were $66-million for the quarter ending September 30th, compared to less than $14-million for the same quarter last year.

The company is reporting just over $300-million dollars in capital improvements, primarily at its new poultry processing plant in London.

Plant protein sales also increased 9.3%.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
