Two counties in Midwestern Ontario perform well during 4-H online competition

A pair of counties in Midwestern Ontario placed well in this year's 4-H Ontario Go For The Gold competition.

The virtual event was sponsored by Ontario Mutual. Stormont Township took the top prize, while Wellington County placed 2nd. Grey County placed 5th in the competition. 295 members participated online at the provincial, regional and local level, with 4-H hosting all the games using a virtual gaming platform, with members also answering questions consisting of multiple choice, short answer, true-or-false, pop-up photo ID and word scramble questions.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
