New organic benchmarks made available by Organic Council of Ontario

There is new production analysis available for organic crops and livestock that should help farmers compare their operations against others in the sector.

The Organic Council of Ontario (OCO) has published cost of production analyses for dairy, field crops and pastured poultry.

The data was gathered via a partnership through the federal and provincial Canadian Ag Partnership.

Each analysis uses data from 2018 provided by a group of organic farms, and includes a discussion of trends to identify factors specific to organic production of a particular commodity.
