A number of areas affecting agriculture part of planning initiative in Bruce County

'Plan the Bruce' is the county's initiative of gathering input for developing the Official Plan.

And agriculture is a key part of it.

The new Official Plan will consider new or revised policy a number of land use topics including: Mapping Prime Agricultural Area Minimum size of new agricultural lots Surplus farm dwelling severances New residential lots in woodlots Industrial and commercial uses on farms Urban-agriculture edge planning Cannabis production

In a statement, Bruce County officials say good planning decisions now will help support local food producers and expand their opportunities and create a thriving, healthy agricultural community.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
