Grey Bruce Farmers' Week announces scholarship winner

Grey Bruce Farmers' Week is recognizing new veterinarians entering food animal practices serving Bruce and Grey.

The organization has presented its annual $1,000 scholarship to Dr. Heather Reinhardt.

The Teeswater native was an active member of the local dairy 4-H club and during her undergraduate degree she gained experience working in the swine industry.

Reinhardt managed a sow barn, and worked for Southwest Vets, a swine specialty veterinary clinic.

Prior to attending veterinary school, she completed a Master of Science Degree in livestock nutrition.

Dr. Reindhardt was part of the OVC Class of 2021 Virtual Veterinary Oath Ceremony that took place June 12.

Grey Bruce Farmers’ Week has been a main stay for the agricultural industry in Grey and Bruce Counties since 1966.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
