Keeping Seniors Active

Eleven facilities across Chatham-Kent look to get seniors out of the house and trying something new.

One of those facilities, the Chatham Active Living Centre, has around 1,200 members. They have the option to take fitness classes, computer workshops, even belly dancing and burlesque instruction.

"All the programs are geared to getting people out of the house," says program coordinator Linda Lucas. "So that they're not isolated, so that they're meeting friends and keeping healthy."

Lucas adds there are nearly 60 different programs and classes that go on each week.
