Municipal Staffer Named Tourism Manager

Patricia Peters has been selected to create a tourism destination management plan for Chatham-Kent.

Peters comes into her new role as manager of tourism after serving as Chatham-Kent's special events co-ordinator. She's helped on a number of events in CK including the Olympic Torch Relay and Rick Hansen 25th Anniversary Relay.

"Working together we're going to be able to enhance all of the attractions throughout CK," says Peters. "And then more easily develop new attractions and, ultimately, get the word out to visitors."

Peters also lists off just some of the resources Chatham-Kent has to be appealing to visitors. "Black History, birding, fishing, boating, the Battle of the Thames event that took place a few years ago."

The contract position is set to begin soon.
