Re-Establishing UWSA Board

The University of Windsor Student Alliance is establishing a new governance structure after the student body refused to elect an executive board last year.

Student senators and UWSA staff have been working with university administration and a team of lawyers to make changes to the bylaws and elections policy that govern the body.

Student Senator Mohamad El-Cheikh believes students are happy with the changes that have been made. "The trust is there and I think the confidence is now back. The confidence and the strength of the UWSA is back and this election is going to be insane. I think we are going to have the highest number of voters and nominees."

Nominations for executive members open this week and an election will be held by the end of November. The university has withheld funding from the organization for the new board to be established.
