SCCDSB Honoraria Remains Consistent

Newly elected trustees for the 2014-2018 term will see little change in their salary compared to the last four years.

Each trustee will receive $7,945.94, while the Chair of the SCCDSB will receive $13,455.94.

There are a couple reasons for this change. For one, honoraria is based on enrollment numbers, which have seen little change in the SCCDSB this year. The base amount set by the province will also remain consistent through the 2017-2018 school year. "All trustees receive $5,900 as a base amount," says treasurer Jim McKenzie. "The chair and vice chair are entitled to an additional amount."

There is also the option to give an attendance bonus for committee meetings, but the SCCDSB does not include that for its trustees.
