UPDATE: Crash Closes Kent Bridge Road

Kent Bridge Rd. is expected to be closed until 12am between Longwoods Rd. and Northwood Line (east of Chatham) following a crash involving a tractor-trailer and a car.

The drivers of the vehicles were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Fuel leaks were clearly visible on the road, and a hydro pole was also broken in half when the transport truck left the road. Sgt. Steve Kloostra says the truck was carrying brine, a non-hazardous material.

Police are asking drivers to stay away from the Kent Bridge and River Line area until further notice for environmental cleanup.
