Gun Recovered After Theft

Two people are in custody on a number of charges after a break-in early yesterday but police are still looking for four crossbows.

Chatham-Kent police say the break-in was carried out around 4am yesterday in a garage on Park Ave. E and the crossbows and a .22 semi-automatic rifle were stolen from a locked gun cabinet.

Police allege the pair went to a Raleigh St. property and tried to sell the gun for drugs.

Police were able to identify and arrest the pair, one aged 18 and the other 17. They recovered the gun and charges include break and enter, possession of stolen property, and a number of weapons offences.
