Lakers Fall In Shootout

The Wallaceburg Lakers lost a close 3-2 game to the Mooretown Flags after a shootout Saturday night.

The Flags took the lead early in the first period with one goal, and then one more with just over two minutes into the second. However, the Lakers made a fast comeback before the end of the second with two goals of their own to tie things up 2-2.  After a scoreless third period, and no scoring in overtime, the Flags snatched the win from Wallaceburg in a shootout.

Evan Weidenbach and Cory Lucier scored one goal each for Wallaceburg.

The Lakers will face off against the Blenheim Blades on Wednesday at 7:30pm.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
