Chatham Cyclist Dies In Hospital

Chatham-Kent police say a cyclist struck by a passing vehicle October 30 has now died.

The 52-year-old was travelling eastbound along Park Ave. E, near Creek Rd., around 6am when he was found by a passerby. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with life-threatening head injuries and later airlifted to a Windsor hospital.

Police now say the cyclist succumbed to his injuries November 9. The collision remains under investigation.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
