Essex County Ontario Provincial Police say between 6pm-7:15pm on Thursday, slippery weather conditions caused ten vehicle collisions.
Police say there were no serious injuries.
Road crews have since been called out to salt the highway and police say it appears to be safe for travel.
The OPP is reminding the public to slow down and leave a safe distance between vehicles.
