Large Investment Transforms Leamington Hotel

A $4-million facelift is nearly complete at the Pelee Motor Inn.

The large hotel and banquet facility on Point Pelee Dr. was purchased by the Sunray Group, a firm based in Oshawa which owns 17 similar locations across Ontario and Quebec.

Asset Manger Sandeep Gupta says the hotel will become a Best Western Plus. "We felt by rebranding it, repositioning it and doing it the way our style is, we could really up the business, up jobs, and create something special and unique to the area itself."

Part of the investment includes a large jungle gym structure and revamping the banquet facilities.

Gupta says if they achieve their reservation and banquet projections, they'll need to hire an additional 40 people.
