Arrest Made In Dog In Dumpster Case

Sarnia police have made an arrest in October's discovery of a small dog in a dumpster with significant injuries.

The animal, wrapped in garbage bags in a dumpster in the 900-block of Colborne Rd., had to be euthanized.

The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and city police investigated.

Police say a 22-year-old man was arrested Tuesday and is charged with two counts of animal cruelty.

No name has been released.

It was determined the dog had been left in the dumpster for several days.

The investigation continues and anyone with information is asked to contact Becky Knight at the Sarnia and District Humane Society or Detective Miro Soucek of the Sarnia police Criminal Investigations Division (519-344-8861 ext. 6191).
