Wallaceburg Now Looks For Patients

Just a month after the Chatham-Kent Family Health Team hired three doctors to help meet patient demand, the group now says it's in need of more patients.

Dr. Rizwan Muhammad, Dr. Naveed Hassan and Dr. Muhammad Afzal were taken on at the Wallaceburg clinic, and also spend time in the emergency department at the CKHA.

But Chatham-Kent Family Health Team Executive Director Laura Johnson says the patients just aren't coming. "As human beings we're leary of things we don't know," says Johnson. "But we've got some really great people that we've recruited."

Johnson points the lack of traffic to residents having family doctors out of town, or simply "hoping they don't get sick."
