Canadiens Crush Lakers

The Wallaceburg Lakers suffered their fifth loss in a row after falling 9-1 to the Lakeshore Canadiens in Junior C hockey action.

During the game Wednesday night, the Canadiens scored a whopping six unanswered goals in the first two periods. In the third, Lakeshore scored three more with the Lakers scoring their sole goal with less than two minutes left in the game. Lakeshore also out shot Wallaceburg 31-18.

Sebastian Kanally was the top scorer for Lakeshore with two goals. Liam MacDougall, Brenden Crundwell, JJ Percy, Luke Sanko, Hunter Corp, Zack Bedard and Mejoe Gasparovic each scored once for the Canadiens.

Jeff Brown scored Wallaceburg's only goal.

The Lakers are back on the ice this Sunday to take on the Dresden Jr. Kings at 8pm, and Lakeshore will take on the Wheatley Sharks on Saturday at 7pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
