SCCDSB Teachers At College

While students take the day off Friday, secondary school teachers from the St. Clair Catholic District School Board are learning about career choices for college-bound students.

The day will be filled with tours and workshops to make teachers aware that there are opportunities beyond a university degree.

"Many of our teachers arrived at their career through a university-bound pathway," says Director of Education Dan Parr. "And I think it's our job to let them know that there are such rich rewarding careers that are available through the colleges."

Parr adds students need to understand that very rarely do first career choices pan out; rather career paths often meander through university, college and apprenticeship experiences.
