OFA Meetings Address Ag Issues

Farmers from across Ontario are taking part in the Ontario Federation of Agriculture annual meeting in the Niagara region.

Representative for Chatham-Kent and Essex Louis Roesch says a hot topic will be a push to expand the natural gas system to serve more farmers.

"It's just much cheaper, there's lots of it, and it would save, just agriculture alone the savings would be about $800-million a year," he says. "Depending on the size of the operation, the average savings on a dryer system for corn and beans is about $20,000."

The annual meeting continues tomorrow.
