KFA Honours Long-Time Member

Ralph Brodie is honoured to receive a special award for dedication to agriculture from the Kent Federation of Agriculture after 40 years in farming.

Brodie first joined the KFA in 1973 and has served on the Ontario Federation of Agriculture board as well. He says a lot has changed since then and more still needs to change for the next generation of farmers.

"We need to get internet out to the rural areas. There's a lot of areas that still don't have internet. It doesn't matter if it's low speed or high speed, they still don't have internet," says Brodie, adding he wasn't expecting the award. "I was very shocked. I just tried to help out, best I can, for the farmers. To be recognized like this, it's very nice."

The KFA's annual general meeting saw Ron Faubert elected KFA president while Dennis Owen will fill the vice-president role. Adrian Jaques is the past-president.
