Monte Unveils Budget Plan

Lambton-Kent-Middlesex Conservative MPP and Ontario PC Leadership hopeful Monte McNaughton is laying out his plan to balance the province's budget after the next election in 2018.

McNaughton calls the Kathleen Wynne Liberals' plan to reduce the $10.5-billion deficit "a mass of contradictions, wishful thinking and fuzzy math".

He says the Liberal government hasn't ruled out raising taxes, something he says would be detrimental.

McNaughton laid out his five principles Monday on how he would balance the books.

He believes Ontario can work toward a balanced budget by living within its means. He says his plan won't see any cuts to public sector employees.

McNaughton is taking budget input from local residents. More information can be found at www.monte.ca
