New Library Named After Toldo

The library branch of the Atlas Tube Centre in Lakeshore is being named after the Toldo Foundation.

The foundation donated $100,000 to the town's capital campaign, to see the library branch put together.

Manager of Special Projects for the Town of Lakeshore Rita Chappell-Arsenault says it's a key part of the $57-million facility. "We have a gymnasium, we have a dance studio, we have a banquet hall and the library. The library actually hosts the wi-fi for the rest of the building, so people can come in and use their computers. They also have electronic media in there and, of course, books."

The Atlas Tube Centre is hosting its grand opening Saturday, with free public skating starting at 9:45am, followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:30am.
