Flags Edge Lakers

Marking their 12th loss in a row, the Wallaceburg Lakers fell 5-4 to the Mooretown Flags.

During the game Saturday night, both teams scored two goals in the first period to tie the game. In the second, Mooretown gained the advantage scoring two goals to make it 4-2 as the game entered the final 20 minutes. The Lakers fought hard in the third, scoring two goals, but Mooretown scored one of their own to take the win.

Matt Clark led Wallaceburg with two goals. Jeff Brown and Brendan Ritchie scored one goal each.

The Lakers will take on Mooretown once again on Wednesday at 7:30pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
