Big Final Push For Hospice

The Chatham-Kent Hospice committee is ending the year on a positive note with a number of large donations.

Director of Development Jodi Maroney says The Money Broker in Blenheim kicked in $25,000, TD Canada Trust contributed $30,000 and Scotiabank weighed in with $40,000.

"I think it's a combination of the work we have been doing all year in talking with different people in the community and many organizations and it being the end of the calendar year for many businesses," she says. "Our capital campaign goal was $5-million, $3-million to build and a $2-million operational sustainability fund and our goal from the beginning was to reach our goal by the end of the calendar year."

Maroney says the hospice hopes to make a final announcement about the campaign in the near future.
