Near-Accident Leads to Arrest

A man has been charged with impaired driving after an incident in Wallaceburg nearly led to a crash.

Chatham-Kent Police say around 3pm Friday, a vehicle struck a curb after almost hitting another car head on at Dufferin Ave in Wallaceburg.

Police caught up to the driver on Bruinsma Avenue, determining that the 62-year-old had been consuming alcohol.

The Port Lambton man will be released with a future court date.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
