Police Lay Assault Charges

Two people were held in custody following separate domestic assault-related incidents on the the weekend.

Police say the first was in answer to a disturbance call around 3am yesterday which escalated to an assault and a smashed cell phone.

The second was in response to a disturbance yesterday afternoon, and police were told there had been several previous assaults. The victim went to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for treatment.

Both suspects were held in custody pending bail hearings.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
