Ag Conference In Ridgetown

Attendance for a two-day conference in Ridgetown is at capacity as farmers gather from across much of western Ontario to learn about a number of agricultural and environmental issues.

Southwest Ag Conference Co-Chair Adam Hayes says it always has information on better cropping and marketing methods but they fit with environmental issues as well.

"A focus on precession agriculture, so that topic has been out there for a lot of years," says Hayes. "With some of the issues around the Great Lakes we tried to focus on minimizing the amount of tillage as well as managing nutrients to keep them out of the Great Lakes."

The conference is full but some of the sessions will be recorded and posted on the Internet at a later date.
