Man Threatens Family With Knife

A 19-year-old Chatham man is facing charges after threatening family members with a kitchen knife.

Chatham-Kent police were called to the home after the teen threatened his mother and younger sister while holding the knife.

He was taken into custody and charged with two counts of uttering threats, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The suspect is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
