UPDATE: Man Arrested After Fleeing Border

Charges are pending for a man after he allegedly fled border authorities at the Ambassador Bridge.

Windsor police say he was arrested without incident at the Husky on County Rd. 46 by city officers, assisted by the OPP. Windsor police say the vehicle driven by the suspect was reported stolen in the U.S.

Initial reports suggested the man may be armed, but police haven't said if a weapon was recovered.

At one point, police say the suspect was last seen at the old Greyhound bus depot in downtown Windsor. "We know that he fled the customs border point and he abandoned his vehicle in the area of Huron Church and Girardot," says Windsor police Staff Sergeant Matthew D'Asti.

Schools in the area were under a hold and secure, but that has since been lifted at all public and Catholic schools.
