Crashes Across Chatham-Kent

A trio of accidents across Chatham-Kent on Wednesday.

A driver lost control of his truck around 7:30m on Creek Line and struck a hydro pole. The driver was not hurt, but damage is estimated at $10,000 and the road was closed for several hours so they could repair the pole. A 17-year old from Pain Court has been charged with careless driving.

Around 3pm, police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Grand Ave W near Keil Dr. in Chatham. Damage was $4,000 and an 88-year-old Chatham woman was charged with making an unsafe turn.

Then, just before 7pm in Blenheim, two vehicles collided on Chatham St. near Talbot St. A 65-year old from Blenheim was taken to hospital and was later charged with careless driving. Damage is estimated at $5,000.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
