Visitation Hours Increasing

It's now easier to visit a loved one at Windsor Regional Hospital.

General patient visiting hours used to be from 5pm to 8pm on weekday evenings and 1pm to 6pm on weekends, but that's being switched to 11am to 8pm daily, including holidays.

Windsor Regional Spokesperson Steve Erwin says once the new hospital is built, you could see 24-7 access to all areas of the hospital. "The new hospital would have a much higher percentage of private rooms, so it reduces infection control concerns. Also, there's an idea that you could have sleeping accommodations in those private rooms."

Around the clock access is currently being made available for emergency, palliative, critical care, neonatal and pediatric patients.

There are, however, restrictions still in place regarding how many visitors can come in. Hospital policy permits two at a time, per patient, and further restrictions could apply in the event of an infection outbreak.
