An 18-year-old Leamington man is charged with impaired driving causing death.
OPP report a 54-year-old man is dead after being hit by a Chevy Cavalier around 8pm Sunday on Fox St. in Leamington. Robert Wallingford was rushed to hospital where he eventually succumbed to his injuries. Police say the 18-year-old charged in the case was the driver of the Cavalier.
The person charged will have his name released once he's formally arraigned in Provincial Court.
The intersection of Fox St. and Askew St. was closed until about 12:30am as police investigated the scene.
