No Condo Concerns For Officials

Chatham-Kent's chief building official won't worry about future of the Everlast condo project in Chatham as long as the construction crane is in place.

Paul Lacina admits he's getting questions from councillors and residents about the future of the Everlast project on King St.

"I've told them that, for whatever reason, there are projects that cease action on the property, that doesn't mean that construction won't start up again," he says. "I would be concerned if I saw the crane being removed and we have no indication that is happening."

As well, he says the municipality has no power to take action unless construction is stopped for at least six months.
