Salvation Army Just Misses Target

The Chatham-Kent Salvation Army Christmas campaign came up just a little short.

The main fundraiser for the group brought in $422,000 of the $450,000 goal.

"While the full goal was not achieved, there will be no changes to programs and services," says Captain Stephanie Watkinson in a news release. "It is our plan to do smaller fundraisers for particular needs throughout the year."

Over 1,100 families received assistant from the Salvation Army because of the donations, including help with food, clothing, shelter and even furniture.
