Special Needs Child Receives Help

A local family is feeling extremely grateful after receiving a grant to help their daughter with special needs.

Community Living Chatham-Kent announced the first recipients of the Jonathon Daniel Stone Fund.

Father Wayne Black says the $1,000 he received will go towards an iPad to help make his daughter Amiera's everyday life as easy as possible. "There's a lot of families that do need access and help with their own children," says Black. "As we know with government funding cutbacks, there's a lot of tools we can use to help children with special needs to build their development."

The second grant will be awarded to the family of Cruz Moco to assist with the intensive behavioral intervention program.
