Attempted Break-In Arrest

Chatham-Kent police are holding a man in custody for a bail hearing after someone tried to force his way into a Wallaceburg home.

Police say it happened before 9pm last night on an Elizabeth St. home and the resident was able to push the man out and lock the door. He then called 911.

A short time later officers found a man nearby on Elgin St. who at first tried to conceal his hands and then through a small vial of suspected hash oil over a cruiser.

A 40-year-old man of no fixed address faces charges of resisting arrest, drug possession and break and enter.
